England need a striker! pics2009

Er, Rooney should learn to sing (or even mouth) the National Anthem. If you are English and represent your country then this is a must. EVERY player lining up at the start of the match participated, EXCEPT Rooney. Even Gerrard managed a mutter.... and that is beter than he usually does. If Rooney wants to be Captain then he has to respect the National Anthem. On the pitch Rooney, industrious as ever, was clearly seen to tell the ref to F Off... (the ref had a word) and he put in a couple of meaty challenges in the first half when he got wound up. He is a liability in that respect. Yes he wears his heart on his sleeve, is a brilliant footballer but he is not going to do us any favours when he is in the bath and we are down to 10 men... as in the last World Cup against PortugalGerrard had a poor match, terrible Captain, hardly shouted at his team mates to motivate them, whereas Rooney and Terry were geeing them up constantly. Lampard was Very poor... as he has been for Chelsea recently. Seems to have lost his motor. Terry (Cheered by many England Fans, Jeered by a few nutters) played well as did Rooney, Milner and Crouch. Bains was solid at left back... Wes Brown was useless. He was caught out of position several times leaving Terry and co to cover. Barry was ok at times, Good in the air. Upson's slip gave Egypt the lead but the pitch was very poor. Several players lost their footing. The FA need to get this sorted out as we didn't have this problem at the old Wembley in it's last years.Capello needs to look at starting with Crouch. 20 goals in 38 games is a bloody good record in anybody's book. Defoe has had too many chances and not really impressed... and Heskey won't make the finalsGreen only had on save to make but it went in... apart from that a catch from a cross and that was it. Not my No1. James or Hart for me but Capello has made his mind up it appearsreplSamson playcool ibeabuchi Thu, 02/04/2010England fans want Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to replace John Terry as captainChelsea skipper Terry suffered yet another blow yesterday as a poll revealed that the Manchester United striker is the new supporters' choice to wear the armbandRooney has hit 21 goals this season and, in the eyes of many, has matured considerably having married long-time girlfriend Colleen and become a fatheThe 24-year-old marksman was sent off in disgrace at the last World Cup as England crashed to defeat against PortugalBut Rooney has this season been credited with single-handedly leading United's title challenge following the departure last summer of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos TevezThe poll was conducted by men's lifestyle mag Asylum.
